Forbidden fruit can be downright intoxicating.

Vineyard manager Reese Clark is determined to bring her family’s Oregon winery into the big leagues, and she knows building a new tasting room and event pavilion is her ticket there. Having her ex-husband’s best friend—and her secret college crush—turn up to head the construction project, however, doesn't pair well with her plans. Between her nauseating lovebird parents; her motorcycle-riding, pot-growing grandfather; and her pet alpaca, fond of head-butting groins, Reese has more than enough chaotic characters in her life.

Back in college, Clay Henderson was more likely to be sprawled over a bar than building one. But even if the new clean-living Clay has matured as deliciously as an oak-aged chardonnay, he’s still off-limits. As Reese’s well-laid plans for the winery crumble like bad cork, Clay the newly sober gentleman is sweet enough to rescue Reese from a wardrobe malfunction and still spicy enough to play “I Never” with her. Can he overcome his past rep to offer her a love too heady to ignore?

Let It Breathe eBook Tawna Fenske

Fair amount of typos or grammatical errors - some of them odd enough they they may have been issues with kindle version only. Formulaic, the characters never grabbed me. Hard to enjoy if you aren't into the characters. So many glowing reviews, I really wanted to enjoy it, but basically skimmed the last half because I couldn't sleep and didn't want to bother downloading a new book. Lots and lots of alcohol, not too surprising, it takes place in a winery. And the main characters parents were just annoying - we are supposed to see how perfect we think their relationship was, but it comes off a bit overdone and cloyingly sweet. Oh, well.

Let It Breathe eBook Tawna Fenske Reviews

Absolutely loved the book! I think this is now my favorite Tawna Fenske book. It had comedy, romance, a gamut of emotions (happiness, sadness, loneliness). The love of the family in this story was undeniable. They were all vested into this vineyard that they were willing to do whatever it took to save it. Reese had such a comical relationship with her grandfather, who definitely stole the show and her parents were definitely the type of people that would just lift you up no matter how down you were.

Clay, Reese and Eric were friends since college. Clay and Reese had a secret history of "wanting" each other. However, Clay became an alcoholic and Reese bailed him out one too many times. He went away to rehab and Reese and Eric decided to get married because they figured they were such good friends, it would work out. One year down the road and they were divorced. However, their relationship was still that of friendship and they were side by side at the vineyard. Clay returned after many years away as a different person having not had a drink in 4 years. The attraction between Reese and Clay was so strong that it was very hard for them to stay apart. They needed to work through their issues......Reese learning to trust and Clay learning to be the "old" Clay in that he could still be his old joking self.

There was so much comedy and the romance was so wonderful (steamy too!!). It was such an uplifting story. Well done!
Loved the storyline and the interaction with all characters. I can tell you how I laughed and had to blot some of the tears, but that is for you to decide. This is a must read or Audible listen.
Another great quirky romantic comedy by Tawna Fenske, who has become one of my go-to authors for books that make me laugh while I read them and make me sigh with contentment when I finally turn the last page. (In between, there's a bit of steam, too...) Highly recommended.
This family is so far out, you wonder if they can even make it to the end of the book. The story has it's positive messages but they are buried under the attempt at humor. The ending was such that you can imagine that the author reached the specified number of words and, boom, they were finished with the story. The book needed a bit more such as an epilogue to even out the abrupt ending.
Funny and entertaining, a delightful read! I just recently stumbled upon Tawna's stories and I'm hooked! The fact that in a wine lover was a bonus. Her characters are relatable and you feel what they feel. Highly recommend reading this!
When I pick up one of Tawna's books, I know I'm going to get a fun story with good banter and likable characters. All of that was present in this book, but there was a deeper, more melancholy thread also running through it. Don't get me wrong, this is not a bad thing, it was just a bit different than the other books of hers that I've read. The tone was appropriate since the hero, Clay, was a recovering alcoholic and had a lot of regrets over things that he'd done while he was drinking. Both Clay and Reese had things in their past to overcome and it was lovely to see them slowly try to work through it all.
As expected, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. This author's books never fail to entertain, and parts of this one are laugh-out-loud funny. Like some of the antics of the octogenarian grandfather, who is still a Harley-riding, pot-growing, womanizing hoot... or the pet alpaca who "greets" gentlemen callers with a solid head butt to the groin, and gets stoned on some of Grandpa's pot.

It's a nice enough obstacle-filled romance, with a few toe-curling scenes, but nothing too graphic. The main setting is an Oregon vineyard, so there's lots of info about the wine-making business, which may slow things down for some readers. (I personally found it interesting.) Some of the characters are supremely annoying, and some of their behaviors illogical, but all-in-all, it IS a Fenske book, so it IS enjoyable. It may not be her best effort to date, but it's still a fun read.
